Camping trip with Alem Hikings to Ankober , a small town in Ethiopia with about 3000 residents, is located on the Eastern Escarpment of the Ethiopian Highlands at a height of 2465 feet. It has stunning views into the Afar lowlands and out toward the Awash Valley. At a road distance of approximately 175 kilometers northeast of Addis Ababa and 42 kilometers east of Debre Birhan.
